What Does Revelation 2:21 Mean?
The Lord pauses to make plain His patience. He had given the woman time, an open space to turn from her sin. Judgment is not hasty. Yet the offer of mercy was met with hardened refusal: "she repented not."
Patience is not the absence of justice but its delay, room granted for repentance to do its work. The Lord's longsuffering is real, and it is also limited by the response it meets. When mercy is despised and a season of grace is squandered, what remains is judgment. The verse reveals a God slow to anger, willing to wait, yet not endlessly resisted. Refused grace does not stay grace forever.
