What Does Revelation 6:15 Mean?
John names them rank by rank: kings, nobles, generals, the rich, the mighty, and then every slave and every free person. The whole ladder of human standing is listed, top to bottom, and all of it does the same thing, scrambling to hide in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. Earthly status offers no shelter on this day.
The leveling is total. Crowns and chains alike count for nothing when God draws near; the powerful and the powerless cower side by side. This is a sober mirror for every heart that trusts in rank, wealth, or might. None of these can hide a person from God. The only true refuge is not a cave in the rocks but the mercy of the Lamb, sought before that day rather than fled from in it.
