What Does Revelation 7:3 Mean?
The angel from the east gives the order: hold back all harm until God's servants are sealed in their foreheads. The forehead is the open, visible place; the mark is not hidden but plain, declaring whose they are for all to see.
The word translated servants speaks of those who belong wholly to their Master. Before the world is touched, the Lord pauses to set His mark on His people. This is the pattern of His mercy throughout Scripture, as when blood on the doorposts in Egypt shielded those within.
