What Does Romans 12:16 Mean?
Paul calls for unity of mind and the humility that makes it possible. Rather than reaching for status or impressive things, believers are to associate gladly with the humble and lowly. The same warmth is owed to the unimportant as to the great.
Pride is the great divider, and Paul names it directly: do not be wise in your own eyes. A heart convinced of its own superiority cannot be of one mind with others.
