What Does Romans 4:20 Mean?
Paul presses deeper into Abraham's response. He did not stagger at the promise, did not waver back and forth in doubt. Where unbelief would have made him hesitate, his faith held firm and even grew stronger.
And note where this leads: he gave glory to God. Faith and worship rise together. To trust God's promise is itself a way of honoring Him, of declaring that He is faithful and able. Abraham's strengthening faith overflowed into praise. This is the shape of a believing life: the more we lean on God's word, the more we glorify Him, and the more we glorify Him, the more our faith is established.
