Ephraim will be strong and full of joy like one gladdened by wine, and their children will see and rejoice in the LORD with them.

What Does Zechariah 10:7 Mean?

Ephraim, the leading tribe of the northern house, is pictured as a mighty man whose heart overflows with gladness, like the cheer that wine brings to a feast. The despair of exile gives way to celebration as God's people taste His salvation.

The joy does not stop with one generation. The children see what God has done and are glad, and their gladness is rooted in the LORD Himself. True rejoicing is not in the gift alone but in the Giver. This is the inheritance God means to pass down: parents whose hearts rest in Him, and children who learn from them where lasting joy is found.
