All flesh is called to fall silent before the LORD, who has roused Himself from His holy dwelling to act.

What Does Zechariah 2:13 Mean?

The vision closes with a hush. All flesh, every living person, is called to be silent before the Lord, for He is raised up out of his holy habitation, stirring from His dwelling place to act on behalf of His people. The promises of the chapter are about to move from word to deed.

There is a silence that is the only fitting response to God. When the Lord rises to work, human noise and argument fall away; the creature waits and watches. This stillness is not fear alone but reverent trust, the quiet of those who know that the One stepping forward is faithful. Before such a God, the wisest posture is to hush and behold.
