What Does Zechariah 2:6 Mean?
The vision now turns to a summons. Many of the people still lingered in Babylon, the land of the north from which armies and captivity had come. God cries Ho, ho, an urgent shout, calling them to leave and return. He reminds them that He had once scattered them abroad like the four winds across the earth.
The God who scattered is the God who now gathers. The call to flee is not panic but homecoming: the place of exile, however comfortable it had become, is not where His people belong.
