What Does 1 Peter 1:13 Mean?
Now Peter turns from wonder to command. The image is a traveler tucking up a long robe to move quickly: gather your mind, stay clear-headed, fix your hope.
Everything before this verse was gift; now comes the response. The hope is not vague optimism but a settled expectation aimed at one event, the revelation of Jesus Christ. A mind braced for that day is steadied for this one. Peter asks not for frantic effort but for readiness, the alertness of those who know their Lord is coming.
