What Does 1 Timothy 2:8 Mean?
Returning to prayer, Paul wants it offered everywhere, with hands lifted in the ancient posture of petition. But the hands must be holy, the heart clean.
Prayer is hindered by anger and division. Paul asks that those who pray come without wrath toward others and without quarreling, their hands and hearts at peace. A reconciled life makes for honest prayer.
