What Does 2 Timothy 2:12 Mean?
The trustworthy saying continues with two more lines. Those who endure suffering will share in Christ's reign; but those who deny Him will find themselves denied by Him.
Here promise and warning stand together. Suffering endured with Christ is not wasted; it leads to reigning with Him in glory. Yet there is a sober word too: to deny the Lord is to face His denial. This is not cold threat but honest love, calling the reader to faithfulness. The stakes are real, and our response to Christ matters. For the reader, the verse holds out a glorious hope to those who endure and a serious caution against turning away. The path of suffering leads to a crown; the path of denial leads to loss. Faithfulness is worth everything.
