Hebrews 13:6

Hebrews 13:6 expresses the bold confidence that, because the Lord is our helper, we need not fear what any person can do to us. The opening phrase, "so that we may boldly say," connects this confidence directly to the promise of the previous verse. Because God has assured us He will never leave or forsake us, we can respond with courageous declaration rather than timid worry.

The words "boldly say" indicate open, confident speech -- a settled conviction voiced without hesitation. The declaration itself is drawn from earlier Scripture: "The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me." Naming God as "my helper" makes the truth personal; He is not a distant ally but one's own present aid. From that footing flows freedom from fear of human threat. The reasoning is simple and strong: if the Lord Himself stands with us as our helper, then the worst that other people can do loses its power to control us. This does not deny that people can cause real harm, but it places that harm in proper perspective against the help of God. The verse turns the promise of God's presence into a courageous outlook on life, freeing believers from the paralyzing fear of what others might do and grounding them in confident trust.
