St Margaret Mary Church

About this church

St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Slidell celebrates Saturday vigil Masses at 4:00 p.m. in English and 6:00 p.m. in Spanish. Sunday Masses are at 8:30 and 10:15 a.m., noon, and 5:00 p.m.; incense is noted at 10:15, while the 5:00 service has no music. Weekday Masses, four weekly confession windows, and a first-Saturday Latin liturgy—not the Traditional Latin Mass—add substantial choice. The parish’s detailed schedule is especially useful for visitors who need a particular language, sensory setting, or sacramental time.

Founded in 1965, the parish first celebrated Sunday Mass in its school cafeteria in 1967 and held the first Mass in the completed church on Christmas Day 1976. Today, devotional and service opportunities include Friday Divine Mercy prayer at 3:00 p.m., Eucharistic Adoration, liturgical ministries, homebound Communion, and nursing-home visitation. High-school ministry and parish faith formation provide age-based connection as well. St. Margaret Mary therefore reads as more than a high-frequency Mass schedule: it is a parish with a school-rooted history, English and Spanish worship, regular confession, devotional practice, and direct care for people unable to attend. Check the bulletin for holy-day changes.
