Central Presbyterian Church

About this church

Central Presbyterian Church offers traditional worship at 9:00 a.m. and contemporary worship at 11:00 at 40 Lincoln Way West in Chambersburg, with Sunday School at 10:00 between them. The early service uses written liturgy, creeds, hymns, choir anthems, and organ music. The later gathering draws on contemporary Christian music, renewed hymn settings, spontaneous prayer, and other creative elements.

Children receive a message in both worship services and can join Sunday School, summer Kids’ Club, Vacation Bible School, and other formation programs. Middle-school ministry combines Scripture, intergenerational mentoring, fellowship, and service such as tutoring refugee students, serving at a homeless shelter, building community gardens, and helping the church’s Diaper Depot. That ministry distributes diapers to registered families at a monthly Saturday event from 10:00 a.m. to noon, with volunteers sorting packages the preceding Wednesday. Central’s two-service structure makes style a genuine choice rather than a vague label, while the shared 10:00 education hour connects both congregations. Visitors interested in the Diaper Depot should consult current event dates and required registration documents before arriving.
