Overflow Community Church

About this church

Overflow Community Church meets at The Tap, 642 Lincoln Way West in Chambersburg, for Sunday celebration at 10:00 a.m. Worship is followed by a message and then a shared meal, while nursery and elementary-age classes are provided every week. The message portion is livestreamed on YouTube beginning around 10:45 for people who cannot attend in person. That pattern gives a first-time guest a useful picture of the morning: gathered worship, teaching, age-based care for children, and unhurried fellowship over food rather than a quick departure after the sermon.

Overflow began with young adults praying and imagining a community where work, worship, and play would grow from relationship with Jesus. Weekly meetings started in 2006, and DOVE Christian Fellowship International commissioned the congregation as a church plant later that year. Today its mission is connecting people to Jesus and one another through Sunday worship and Life Groups during the week. The church describes Christian community as a spiritual family and practices baptism, Communion, and marriage as sacraments. Its calendar also includes Community Breakfast gatherings and other uses of The Tap. Visitors can explore recent sermons online, but the shared post-service meal is the most distinctive part of the published Sunday experience.
