Marion First United Methodist Church

About this church

At Marion First United Methodist Church, worship begins Sundays at 9:30 a.m. and Sunday School follows from 10:45 to 11:30. Its worship life respects Methodist tradition while also making room for informal expression and contemporary music alongside beloved hymns. The congregation emphasizes Scripture, mission, welcome, love, mercy, prayer, and receiving God's word in community. It aims to invite people into discipleship while remaining connected to a changing world, describing faith not as isolation but as shared care and mutual growth.

After worship, a “Fresh” Sunday School discussion is open to everyone age thirteen and older, while adult classes offer smaller communities for learning and relationship. Two round-table Scripture groups meet during the school year. Community Care events include game nights, potlucks, and concerts, and a monthly hot meal is offered to the public by donation with no obligation. Mission volunteers travel to United Methodist Mission Central to prepare relief packages for distribution around the world. The homepage directs people to its events information for current program dates, an important step because many ministries do not list recurring hours. The site also leaves nursery care, children's class ages, accessibility, parking, Communion frequency, streaming, and service length unspecified.
