Cross Timbers Cowboy Church

About this church

Cross Timbers Cowboy Church in Lufkin worships Sundays at 10:30 a.m., in person and by livestream. Dress runs from boots and hats to shorts, dresses, and slacks. Children and youth begin with congregational singing, announcements, and prayer before moving to classes that include nursery, Kids Korral, youth, and God Made Me Special for children with additional learning needs. The church is at 4977 US Highway 69 North.

Wednesday doors open at 6:00 p.m., supper begins at 6:30, and service starts at 7:00. A second-Friday jamboree follows the same doors-and-meal rhythm before an open mic and featured artist. The congregation began in a bunkhouse in September 2004, met at the Lufkin Expo beginning in 2005, and moved to its present worship site in 2008. Its western-heritage ministry also organizes rodeo, barrel-racing, bull-riding, equine, and youth arena events with faith components. A senior food pantry distributes on the third Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. Visitors coming for a pantry, jamboree, or arena event should confirm that month’s date, since those do not follow the weekly Sunday schedule.
