About this 1 Samuel 17 coloring page
This free printable coloring page illustrates david chooses five smooth stones from 1 Samuel 17. David kneels at a brook picking up smooth stones for his sling before meeting the giant. The sheet prints at full letter size and the line art is drawn with wide open areas, so younger children can colour it with crayons while an adult reads the chapter aloud.
The memory verse printed at the bottom is 1 Samuel 17:47 — “The battle belongs to the Lord.” A second version without the verse banner is available above if you would rather keep the whole sheet blank for colouring, or add your own caption.
Use it for Sunday school, midweek kids’ club, homeschool Bible time, or a family devotional at the kitchen table. It pairs with our 1 Samuel 17 kids study guide and the full 1 Samuel 17 study guide for grown-ups. You can also read 1 Samuel 17 before you start colouring.
Read and talk about 1 Samuel 17
The artwork shows David choosing stones before facing Goliath, rather than the battle itself. Read the surrounding story and notice David’s words about trusting the Lord instead of boasting about his own strength.
