What Does 1 Corinthians 13:10 Mean?
Paul looks forward to a coming fullness that will make the partial unnecessary. He contrasts what is incomplete now with what is whole then.
When that which is complete arrives, the fragmentary gifts will have served their purpose and be laid down, the way a lamp is no longer needed at sunrise. Nothing good is lost; it is fulfilled. The believer lives now in the in-between, trusting that the One who is bringing all things to completion will not leave us in shadows but is leading us toward the day when we shall see clearly.
