What Does 1 Peter 1:12 Mean?
Peter completes the thought: the prophets were ministering not chiefly to their own day but to this one. What they foresaw is now openly preached, carried by the same Spirit sent from heaven.
The verse ends on a startling note. Even the angels lean in, longing to gaze upon this salvation. The thing the scattered believers hold so easily is a wonder that heaven itself studies. If angels stoop to look, the weary and persecuted reader may take fresh measure of the gospel entrusted to them.
