What Does 1 Peter 3:11 Mean?
The psalm continues with four verbs that map a whole way of living: turn from evil, do good, seek peace, and pursue it. Each is active; none is passive.
Peace especially is not to be merely wished for but chased, ensued, hunted down. It rarely arrives on its own. Peter commends a faith that is restless for good, that does not wait for evil to leave but turns from it, and does not wait for peace to appear but goes after it. The blessed life he describes is something the believer actively builds, day by day, choice by choice.
