What Does 1 Timothy 1:12 Mean?
The thought of the gospel entrusted to him moves Paul to thanksgiving. He credits Christ for the strength to serve and for the trust placed in him.
Paul does not boast of his fitness; he marvels that Christ counted him faithful at all. Ministry is a gift received, not a prize won. The same Lord who calls also enables, so that every servant's usefulness flows from grace rather than from native strength.
