Isaiah 39:2
“And Hezekiah was glad of them, and shewed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.”

Read Full Chapter →Hezekiah eagerly shows the Babylonian visitors everything he possesses, holding nothing back.
Context
The king displays his wealth, weapons, and resources to Merodach-baladan's embassy. The repetition of 'all' and 'nothing...not' emphasizes complete disclosure. Hezekiah's joy and openness reveal his pride in what he has accumulated. He is, in effect, declaring to Babylon: 'See what I possess; see my strength.'
Application
Pride loves an audience. When we find ourselves eager to show others what we have achieved or acquired, that eagerness is a warning light. True security does not need the admiration of others; it rests in God's sustaining hand. We are called to guard our hearts and the resources God has entrusted to us, not to parade them as proof of our worth.
