Isaiah questions Hezekiah about his visitors, and Hezekiah openly admits they are from Babylon.

Context

Isaiah arrives as God's messenger. His questions are not asked in ignorance but in judgment. He probes what has happened. Hezekiah, sensing nothing amiss, answers straightforwardly, naming Babylon. The prophet's arrival marks the turning point: the private act of pride is about to be exposed and judged.

Application

We need wise counselors and trusted friends who will ask us the hard questions before we bear the consequences of our choices. When such a voice speaks to us, we are wise to listen carefully, to tell the whole truth, and to let the question work in our hearts before God's judgment falls.
