What Does Job 11:13 Mean?
Having rebuked Job, Zophar now shifts to counsel and lays down his conditions for restoration. If Job will prepare, or set in order, his heart and stretch out his hands toward God, then good will follow. The outstretched hands are the ancient posture of prayer and surrender, and the prepared heart is one turned earnestly toward the Lord.
Though Zophar misjudges Job's case, the path he names is genuinely good. To prepare the heart and lift up the hands is the very shape of true repentance and faith. God does receive those who turn to Him with open hands and ordered hearts; He does not turn away the seeking soul. What the friends wrongly demand of an innocent man remains the right and gracious road for every sinner: come to God in humble prayer, and find Him near.
