What Does John 7:29 Mean?
Over against their ignorance — whom ye know not — Jesus sets his knowledge: but I know him. The claim rests on origin and commission: I am from him, and he hath sent me. No prophet ever spoke this way; prophets received words, but the Son comes forth from the Father's presence.
