What Does John 7:28 Mean?
Teaching in the temple, Jesus lifts his voice over their objection. He grants their point as far as it goes — yes, you know my face and my town — then overturns it: he has not come on his own errand, and the true One who sent him is a stranger to them.
It is possible to hold many facts about Jesus and still miss him, because knowing him means knowing the Father who sent him (John 8:19).
