What Does Joshua 12:21 Mean?
Taanach and Megiddo guarded the rich Jezreel valley, a strategic crossroads where many of Israel's later battles would be fought. Their kings are now entered into the record of those whom God gave into Israel's hand.
These were prized, well-placed cities, the kind a people would naturally fear to face. Yet they too are simply counted 'one.' The Lord grants His people footholds even in the most contested ground. The reader sees that no stronghold is so valuable or so guarded that God cannot deliver it, in His time, into the keeping of His own.
