Two further towns of Ephraim finish this portion, four cities in all. Bethhoron guarded an important pass where the Lord had earlier fought for Israel with hailstones from heaven.
The town that once saw God's mighty deliverance now becomes a peaceful home for His servants. Where the Lord had won the victory, His ministers settle and dwell. The battlefields of grace become, in their turn, the quiet dwelling-places of those who serve.
