When God made David king, people came from everywhere to stand with him — and it turned into a great big celebration.
Today's Story
God had chosen David to be king. And soon, brave helpers began to come to him — first a few, then more, then crowds and crowds of them!
They came from every part of the land. Some were mighty soldiers. Some were so quick they could run like deer over the hills. Some were sharp lookouts who knew exactly the right thing to do. Each one brought what he was good at.
The most wonderful thing was this: they all came with one heart. They all wanted the same thing — to make David their king. They were different people from different places, but they stood together like one big family.
When everyone had gathered, it became a huge celebration! They brought food and feasted for three whole days. They ate and laughed and sang, because their hearts were full of joy. The Bible says there was great gladness in the land.
When God's people come together with one heart, it is a happy, beautiful thing.
