David tries again to bring God's golden ark home — and this time he does it exactly the way God said. The whole city bursts into song!
Today's Story
David had learned an important lesson. The first time he tried to bring the ark home, it didn't go the way God wanted. So this time, David said, “We are going to do it God's way.”
God had given clear directions long ago. The ark was to be carried gently on the shoulders of special helpers called the Levites, lifted up with long poles. So David called the Levites together and said, “Get ready! This time, you will carry the ark, just as God told us.”
And they did. The Levites lifted the golden ark up onto their shoulders, careful and proud, and began the journey to Jerusalem.
Oh, the music! David picked singers to sing happy songs. There were harps and horns and crashing cymbals and trumpets blasting. The whole city rang with the joyful sound.
And King David? He danced and danced before the LORD with all his might, so glad and so full of joy. This time, everything was right — God was coming home, His way, and the people couldn't stop celebrating.
