1 Chronicles 3 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

Now the list follows King David's own family — his children, and all the kings who came after him.

Today's Story

This part of the list belongs to one very famous person: King David, the shepherd boy who became king.

First it names David's own children. One of them was Solomon, who would be king after his dad. Then the list keeps going — Solomon's son, and his son, and on and on. These were the kings of God's people, one after another.

Some of those kings loved God. Some of them did not. But through all of them, God kept David's family going. He had made a promise that David's family would always have a special place — and God did not forget.

Long after all these kings, one more would come from David's family: Jesus. He is the King who never stops being King, and His kingdom never ends.

God was faithful to David's family the whole way through.
