In the middle of a long list of names, one man stops to pray a short, honest prayer — and God hears him.
Today's Story
This chapter is mostly another long list of family names. But hidden right in the middle is a little story about a man named Jabez.
The Bible says Jabez was a good man who loved God. One day, Jabez prayed a simple, honest prayer. He said, “God, please bless me. Please be with me. Please keep me safe from harm.”
It was not a long, fancy prayer. It was just Jabez talking to God about what was on his heart. And do you know what happened? The Bible says God heard him and gave him what he asked for!
That tells us something wonderful. You do not need big, perfect words to talk to God. You can just tell Him what you need, the way Jabez did. God is always listening.
Even in the middle of a long list, God stopped to hear one person's prayer. He will stop to hear yours too.
