These families lived across the Jordan River — and the Bible remembers a time when they were in trouble and learned to trust God.
Today's Story
This part of the list names some families who lived on the far side of a big river called the Jordan. They had wide green fields where they could keep their sheep and cows.
One day, these families were in trouble. Things were hard, and they could not fix it on their own. So they did the very best thing anyone can do when they are scared: they cried out to God and asked Him for help.
And the Bible says God answered them. He helped them because they trusted in Him. They did not try to do it all by themselves. They reached up to God, and God reached down to them.
That is a wonderful thing to remember. When something is too big for you, you do not have to be brave all alone. You can call out to God, just like these families did.
God loves to help His children when they trust Him.

- God answered them because they trusted Him. What does it look like to trust God when things are hard?
