This part of the family list belongs to the Levites — and some of them had a wonderful job: leading God's people in music and singing.
Today's Story
This part of the big family list belongs to one special family: the family of Levi. God gave them important jobs in His house, the place where everyone came to worship Him.
Some of them helped people pray and bring their gifts to God. But here is the part children love best: some of them were the singers and the music makers!
King David picked certain families to be in charge of the music. Day after day, they would sing and play their instruments to praise God. Can you imagine? Their whole job was to fill God's house with happy songs.
God loves it when we sing to Him. Singing is one of the ways we say, “God, You are good, and we love You!” You do not have to be a perfect singer. God just loves to hear a thankful heart.
These music families remind us that praising God is a wonderful, joyful job — and it is a job for you too.
