It's time for David to say goodbye to his son Solomon. He gives him the most important advice a father could give.
Today's Story
King David was about to die. He called his son Solomon close for one last, important talk.
David didn't talk about money or armies or palaces. He talked about the one thing that mattered most. “Be strong, Solomon,” he said. “Show that you are brave. And walk in the ways of the LORD your God. Keep His commands, and do what He says. Then you will do well in everything you do.”
What a thing to leave your child! Not gold - but God. David wanted Solomon to know that the secret to a good life is to follow God with your whole heart.
Then David died, after many years of being king. And Solomon got busy and carefully set the new kingdom in order, so everything would be peaceful and strong.
David's last words still echo for us today: be strong, be brave, and walk God's way.
