The temple is finished! Now it's time for the grand opening - and God Himself shows up in a way no one will ever forget.
Today's Story
The temple was done at last. The whole nation gathered for the biggest celebration ever. The priests carried in the ark - the special golden chest - and placed it in the most special room.
And then something amazing happened. A cloud filled the temple - a thick, glowing cloud. It was the glory of God! It was so wonderful that the priests could hardly stand up. God Himself had come to fill His house.
King Solomon was amazed. He spread out his hands and prayed a beautiful prayer. “LORD,” he said, “the highest heavens can't even hold You - how much less this temple I have built! Will You really live with people here on earth?”
Then Solomon asked God to always listen when His people prayed toward this place - to hear them, and to forgive them, and to help them.
The God who is bigger than the whole universe had come to be close to His people. And He promised to listen whenever they called.
