Paul is far away from his friends, and he misses them. In this part of the letter, you can feel how much he cares.
Today's Story
Paul missed his friends so much. He wanted to know if they were doing okay. Were they still loving God? Were they still being kind to each other?
So Paul sent his helper, a man named Timothy, to go check on them. “Go see how they are doing,” Paul said. Then Paul waited, hoping for good news.
And the good news came! Timothy came back and said, “Your friends are doing great! They still love God, and they still love each other. And guess what — they miss you too!”
Paul was SO happy. He said, “Now we really live, because you are standing strong.” His sad heart turned into a glad heart. And right away he prayed for them. He asked God to help their love “grow more and more” — bigger and bigger every day.
When you love someone, you miss them when they are gone. You want them to be okay. And you talk to God about them. That is what love does.
