Here is a happy, peaceful story about a good king named Jotham, who walked with God steady and strong.
Today's Story
After Uzziah, his son Jotham became king of Judah. Jotham had watched his father grow proud and get into trouble. Jotham decided he would do better.
Jotham did what was right in God's eyes. He built gates and walls and towns. He was strong and busy — but he did not get puffed up the way his father had. He was careful to honor God and stay out of the holy places that were not his.
The Bible tells us the secret to Jotham's strength in one beautiful line: “Jotham grew powerful, because he walked steadily with the LORD his God.” Step by step, day after day, he kept following God.
Jotham did not need a big, flashy moment. He just kept walking with God, one faithful step at a time — and God made him strong.

Talk About It
- What is something you do every single day, like brushing your teeth? How does doing it over and over help you?
- Jotham walked with God a little bit every day, not just once. What is one steady thing you could do to walk with God each day?
- Jotham learned from his dad's mistake and did better. What is something good you have learned to do from watching someone else?
