2 Corinthians 8 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

2 Corinthians is a letter Paul wrote to help God's family love God and love each other.

In this part, Paul tells about some friends who loved to share.

Today's Story

Far away, in a place called Macedonia, lived some of God's family. They did not have much money. In fact, they were poor. But something amazing happened in their hearts.

When they heard that other believers were hungry and needed help, they wanted to give. They did not wait to be asked. Paul says they “begged us for the chance” to share what little they had. They gave with big, happy smiles!

Paul told the people in Corinth this story to cheer them on. He said, “You do well in everything else — so be rich in giving too.”

Then Paul pointed to the best Giver of all: Jesus. Jesus had everything in heaven, yet He came down to us so that we could be rich in God's love. Jesus gave us the most.

Giving is not about how much you have. It is about a heart that loves to share. Even a little can be a big gift when it comes with love.

Talk About It

  1. What is something you have that you could share with someone today?
  2. The poor friends gave with happy hearts. Is it easier to share when you are happy about it? Why?
  3. Jesus gave us the most of all. How does that make you want to give too?
