Paul kept writing his last letter to Timothy, to help God's family love God and live the right way.
In this part, Paul tells Timothy about the best treasure of all: God's Word, the Bible.
Today's Story
Paul wanted Timothy to be ready for hard days. “Some people will be selfish,” Paul wrote. “They will only love themselves and money. They will forget to be kind.”
That sounded sad. But Paul had good news for Timothy. “You are different,” he said. “You know what is true, because you learned it from people who love you.”
“Remember,” Paul wrote, “ever since you were a little child, you have known the Holy Scriptures.” That means the Bible! Timothy had heard God's words since he was small, and they made him wise.
Then Paul wrote one of the most important things in the whole letter: “All of the Bible is God-breathed.” That means God Himself gave us every word, like a special letter from heaven.
“The Bible teaches us what is true,” Paul said. “It shows us what is right, helps us when we are wrong, and points us the good way to go.”
God's Word is a gift that helps us know God and do what is good. What a treasure!
