In the city of Ephesus, people who meet Jesus make a bold choice to leave their old wrong ways behind.
Today's Story
Paul came to Ephesus, a city where many people did magic spells and worshiped false gods. Paul taught about Jesus, and God did amazing miracles through him. So many people saw that Jesus was real and powerful — far greater than any magic or idol!
As people believed in Jesus, something wonderful happened. Those who used to practice magic gathered up all their magic books and spell scrolls — which were worth a LOT of money — and brought them out. Then, all together, they burned them in a big fire! They were saying, “We don't need these old wrong things anymore. We belong to Jesus now!”
It was a brave, joyful choice. They turned away from the things that had trapped them and gave their whole hearts to Jesus instead. And because so many people truly turned to Jesus, the good news spread powerfully all over the region.
When we meet Jesus, He's so much better than the old wrong things that we gladly leave them behind to follow Him.
