Acts 20 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Paul loves the believers so much that he stays up all night with them — and a sleepy boy gives everyone a fright!

Today's Story

Paul was visiting believers in a town called Troas. He loved them so much, and since he was leaving the next day, he kept teaching late into the night. They were all gathered upstairs in a room lit with many lamps.

A young man named Eutychus was sitting in a window, listening. But it got later and later, and… his eyes grew heavy… he got sleepier and sleepier… until he fell fast asleep — and tumbled right out of the third-story window to the ground below! Everyone rushed down. Oh no!

But Paul hurried down, gently wrapped his arms around the boy, and said, “Don't worry — he's alive!” God brought Eutychus back, safe and well! Everyone was so comforted and full of joy. Then they went back up, shared a meal, and kept talking until morning. What a night!

Later, when Paul said goodbye to his dear friends, he reminded them of something Jesus taught: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Paul had given so much — his time, his love, his whole self — to help others know Jesus. He showed that loving and giving brings the greatest joy.
