Acts 24 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Even standing before a powerful governor, Paul keeps telling the truth and living the right way.

Today's Story

Paul was brought before Felix, the Roman governor. Some leaders had come to accuse Paul of doing wrong things — but it wasn't true! Paul calmly and respectfully told the truth: “I haven't done anything wrong. I simply worship God and believe everything in the Scriptures. And I always try to keep a clear conscience before God and people.”

A clear conscience means doing what's right, so your heart feels clean and peaceful inside — with nothing to hide. Paul lived honestly, so even when people told lies about him, he wasn't afraid of the truth.

Felix listened, and even sent for Paul again to hear him talk about faith in Jesus and about living the right way. Felix felt nervous and uncomfortable — God's truth was working on his heart! But sadly, he kept putting off his decision, saying, “Later, when it's a better time.”

Paul, though, kept doing right and telling the truth, with a clear conscience, trusting God no matter who he stood in front of.

A Big Word

Memory Verse

Talk About It

  1. People told lies about Paul, but he wasn't afraid because he had done right. Why does doing right help us feel peaceful inside?
  2. A “clear conscience” means nothing to hide. Why is it good to always tell the truth?
  3. Felix kept saying “later” instead of following Jesus. Why is it better not to put off doing the right thing?
