Moses tells God's people not to copy the scary things other nations did — and gives them a wonderful promise instead.
Today's Story
Moses cared about every part of his people's lives. He reminded everyone to take good care of the helpers who served God at His special tent, so they would always have what they needed.
Then Moses gave a warning. The people who lived in the new land did some scary things. They tried magic tricks and spooky spells to try to find out the future. They didn't trust God — they trusted creepy secrets instead.
“Don't copy that,” Moses said gently. “You don't need scary magic. You have God! You can simply trust Him.”
Then Moses shared a beautiful promise. “God will send you a special helper called a prophet,” he said, “someone who will tell you exactly what God wants to say. When he speaks, listen to him — because his words come straight from God.”
God's people didn't have to be afraid or guess about the future. They had something far better than magic. They had a God who loved them and would speak to them. All they had to do was listen.
