Moses keeps telling the story of the long journey, and what God taught His people along the way.
Today's Story
God's people were traveling toward their new home. Along the way, they walked near other families who lived in their own lands.
God said something surprising. “Don't bother these people. Don't take even one little bit of their land. I gave them that land myself. They are your cousins, and I take care of them too.”
So when God's people needed food or water, God said, “Buy it from them. Pay them fairly. Be kind as you pass through.”
Then Moses reminded the people of something good. “For forty whole years, God has watched over us. We never ran out of anything we needed. God has been with us every single step.”
God was teaching His people to do things His way — to be fair, to be kind, and to trust that He would give them exactly what He promised, right on time.
A Big Word
Talk About It
- Has anyone ever been unfair to you? How did it feel? How can you be fair to others today?
- God gave good land to lots of different families. What is one good gift God has given to YOU?
- God said to pass by kindly, even when it took longer. When is it hard to be patient and kind?
