Moses gave the people a plan for the day they would walk into their new land — a way to keep God's words right in front of their eyes.
Today's Story
Soon God's people would walk into their brand-new land. Moses wanted to make sure they would never forget God's words. So he gave them a plan.
“When you get there,” Moses said, “set up some big stones. Coat them white, smooth and clean. Then write God's words on them — nice and big — so everyone can read them.” Imagine God's words painted huge on white stones, right where the whole family could see!
Then Moses gave them another plan. Half the people would stand on one mountain, and half on another mountain across the way. A leader would call out God's good ways, and all the people would shout back together: “Amen!”
“Amen” means “Yes! We agree! It is true!” Moses reminded them that turning away from God only leads to sadness — but walking His good way leads to life. So the people said it out loud, all together: “Amen!”
What a day that would be — God's words written big, and a whole crowd saying yes to Him.
A Big Word

Talk About It
- You say “Amen” at the end of a prayer. Now that you know it means “Yes, I agree!” — what are you saying yes to?
- The people wrote God's words big where everyone could see. Where could you put a Bible verse in your home so you would see it every day?
- It was special that everyone said “Amen!” together. Why do you think it helps to follow God along with your family and friends?
