Deuteronomy 32 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Moses teaches God's people a special song. A song is easy to remember — so even years later, they would still sing about how good God is.

Today's Story

Moses wanted the people to remember God forever. So he did something clever. He gave them a song!

Songs are easy to remember. You can sing them in the morning. You can hum them at night. So Moses taught the whole crowd a song about God, and they all sang it together.

“God is my Rock,” the song began. “Everything He does is right. He is faithful and true.” A rock is strong and steady. You can stand on it and never slip. The song said God is just like that — you can always count on Him.

The song told how God found His people and cared for them. He watched over them like the apple of His eye, the most precious part. He carried them the way a big eagle carries its babies on its strong wings, lifting them up high and keeping them safe.

The song had a sad part too. Sometimes the people forgot God and went their own way, and that made Him sad. But even then, God still loved them and wanted them back.

“Hold these words close,” Moses said. “This song is not just words. It is your life.”
