Deuteronomy 33 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Before Moses says goodbye, he does one last loving thing — he gives God's whole family a blessing.

Today's Story

Moses knew his time with the people was almost over. So he did something a loving grandpa might do. He gathered God's whole big family and blessed them, one part at a time.

To bless someone means to ask God to do good things for them. Moses went around the family and spoke kind words over each group. “May God keep you safe,” he said. “May God give you good food to eat. May God be your helper.”

He told them how special they were. “Who is like you?” Moses said. “You are a people God Himself saved. He is the shield that keeps you safe. He helps you.”

Then Moses said the most beautiful part of all. “God has always been your home,” he said. “And His strong arms are always underneath you, holding you up. You will never fall too far, because God is always there to catch you.”

Moses smiled at the people he had loved and led for so long. “You are happy,” he told them. “There is no one like our God.”
