Deuteronomy 4 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Moses wants God's people to never, ever forget the most important thing they know.

Today's Story

Moses looked at all the people with love. “Listen carefully,” he said. “God has done amazing things for us. Don't ever forget them. Tell your children, and your children's children!”

“Remember the day God spoke to us,” Moses said. “The mountain shook. There was fire and a loud, mighty voice. No people anywhere have ever had a God so close and so kind.”

Then Moses gave a careful warning. “Some people make statues out of wood or stone and bow down to them. But a statue can't see. It can't hear. It can't love you back.”

“Our God is alive! He sees you. He hears you. He saved us! So worship only Him.”

Then Moses said the biggest truth of all: “The Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other God but Him.”

God is the one true God. And He wanted His people to keep Him close to their hearts forever.
